Allianz: 2018 Market Perceptions Study

New research from Allianz finds consumers concerned about their savings, and their ability to recover from a significant market drop. Among the key findings: 35 percent of Americans say they are comfortable with market conditions and ready to invest, up from 26 percent in 2015; however, 37 percent admit that recent volatility is making them anxious about their nest eggs. Reflecting this anxiety, 57 percent are willing to give up potential gains for a product that protects a portion of their retirement savings, up from 48 percent in 2015, and 78 percent of respondents with $200,000 or more in investable assets said it is important to them to have some of their savings in a financial product that protects it from market loss.
