WASHINGTON, D.C.
-- The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) has been recognized by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) with a 2020 Gold Circle Award in the convention/meetings marketing campaign category.

IRI initiated a new conference strategy starting with its 2019 annual event, which was held in Charleston, South Carolina. The IRI conference, the premier event for the retirement income industry, saw attendance improve by 44 percent and sponsorship revenue increase by 23 percent. An attendee survey found high levels of satisfaction.

“We worked very hard to implement a new strategy to make our annual event the premier event for the retirement income industry,” said Wayne Chopus, IRI President and CEO. “To be recognized by peers in the association community for our conference marketing strategy and execution is a powerful signal that we’re on the right course.”

The Gold Circle Awards competition is the premier association marketing, membership and communications award that recognizes excellence, innovation, and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs.

This year’s competition received 189 entries across 15 categories, including convention/meeting campaign, member retention campaign, print magazine, and our newly added category digital content.

The awards are sponsored by HighRoad Solutions, an association-specific digital marketing agency that helps associations leverage email marketing and marketing automation to gain greater insight on how to grow revenue.

Entries for the Gold Circle Awards competition are judged consistently in each category based on criteria established by the ASAE Gold Circle Awards Committee for excellence in association marketing, membership and communications programs.

“On behalf of the awards committee, I want to congratulate the 2020 Gold Circle Awards and Merit Award recipients. The creativity shown in this year’s submissions illustrates the amazing work associations do on a daily basis, and the impact they have on the world around them,” said Renee Harris-Etheridge, MBA, MS, CAE, Director of Membership, National Association for Home Care & Hospice and chair of the Gold Circle Awards Committee.
