WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Insured Retirement Institute is enlisting its Board of Directors this week to thank Members of Congress for enacting comprehensive retirement security legislation last year and to discuss next steps to further strengthen retirement security for all Americans.

The IRI Board is in the nation’s capital for a scheduled meeting. This week, IRI released its public policy agenda which includes several retirement enhancement proposals. Many of the group’s ideas are  included in existing legislation including the Retirement Savings and Security Act sponsored by Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH) and Sen. Ben Cardin (D-MD).  Other proposals supported by IRI include the Retirement Plan Simplification and Enhancement Act and Automatic Retirement Plan Act introduced by House Ways and Means Chairman Richard Neal (D-MA) during the 115th session of Congress.
